West Riding operations director Toni Turton has passed the Chartered Insurance Institute diploma to qualify as an independent financial adviser, alongside passing her driving test and giving birth.
Speaking to FTAdviser, Turton said all three achievements were within the same month, stating her mantra for getting it all done was "just keep going".
West Riding Personal Finance Solutions managing director Neil Liversidge said Turton's daughter, Theodora, was due to arrive 10 days earlier but Turton held on and gave birth on June 2, 2022 - which was also the company's 18th birthday.
Turton joined West Riding as personal assistant to Liversidge in October 2011 and was appointed operations director of the Castleford-based financial advice firm in January 2020.
She enjoyed the administration side of the business in her early days with the company but was encouraged to qualify as an adviser by Liversidge.
“It naturally happened," she said. "As I ended up managing people with these qualifications I thought I can’t really manage people and be telling them what to do, it’s only fair I have the same qualifications.”
However, there is no rest on the horizon for Turton who said she is looking forward to getting back to her clients and expanding the business once her maternity leave finishes.
She also plans on continuing her studies and becoming chartered in the future.
