Health and protection insurer The Exeter has introduced a quick quote option to the application process for its life insurance product ‘Real Life’.
The option enables advisers to speak directly with an underwriter to receive an indicative "loading" - an increase to a premium if a client’s risk is higher than normal - based on a brief discussion about the client’s circumstances.
Advisers can then receive an instant quote by entering the client’s details without needing to answer “complicated underwriting questions”, according to The Exeter.
The quick quote option also enables advisers to change the loading or amend the sum assured and policy term to receive another instant quote, so that clients can be given a range of quotes to accommodate their budget and requirements.
Chris Pollard, chief operating officer at The Exeter, said: “The latest enhancements to our application journey for our Real Life product is an important step towards simplifying and streamlining the process so that advisers and their customers can more easily find the right policy for them.”
Paul Reed, director at Vita, commented: “The simplification of the quote and apply service with The Exeter is a great step forward in helping both advisers and clients alike.
“In a ‘time-poor’ environment that many advisers live in, the ability to speak directly to underwriters and make simple changes online can help ensure that we get more clients protected without having to wait days for an indication of terms.”
The Real Life product is designed for adults living with multiple health conditions or complex medical histories who may find it difficult to find cover, according to The Exeter.
