‘Advice will die’ if young people are not encouraged into profession

“I thought ‘well I’m going to become qualified to the highest point I possibly can very quickly just to have that validation’.

“Contemplating that now, it’s quite sad that I needed to do that but it did help my confidence a lot.”

Priorities

Crosbie also spoke on joining the profession as a mother, describing it as “challenging but not impossible” to juggle parenting and work responsibilities.

“You do have to prioritise and decide what’s important to you and it was really important being a strong role model and bringing an income in.”

However she added: “I don’t know if that’s the best approach now looking back, but it was what I had to do and it worked well because I never missed anything for my child.”
